In May of this year, I had the opportunity to photograph this wedding at the Marmorkirken (Frederik’s Church), in Copenhagen. I’ve been working as a wedding photographer in Copenhagen for seven years now and this was the first time I photographed a wedding in this imposing church. It was definitely a new challenge. Weeks before the wedding, I met this sweet couple to discuss the details of their big day. Turns out they didn’t choose to get married at the Marble Church, the Marble Church chose them. In fact, they wanted to get married in a small church in Christianshavn, but the date they had chosen was no longer available. The priest then helped them find another church for the desired date. The one available was the Marmorkirken and that’s how this non-royal, down-to-earth couple ended up getting married here.
After the wedding ceremony at Frederik’s Church, the guests were welcomed at Rosforth & Rosforth in their outdoor space, under Knippelsbro Bridge. The weather was just perfect for the open-air reception.
B. & M. were expecting their first baby at the time. You can see her tiny belly popping out. Such an amazing year to be these two! Wishing them all the best in their new life as husband and wife and parents.
