wedding photos at Copenhagen city hall
When couples contact me inquiring about my wedding packages, one of the most frequently asked questions is whether one hour of wedding coverage would be enough to cover the wedding ceremony at Copenhagen City Hall and take a few more photos around the city. The answer to that question could be yes or no. Let me explain why:
Is one hour of coverage enough?
One hour would be enough if, 1. You don’t have a lot of guests. When we have many guests, naturally we want to take pictures with them and they will ask to take pictures with you too. Family photos, group photos, it all takes time. My experience with wedding photography has also shown me that guests like to make surprises for the newlyweds: parents may bring champagne to make a toast, they may want to give a speech to the couple, guests may want to celebrate with soap bubbles. So one hour could be pretty tight to still fit in wedding portraits in Copenhagen. 2. One hour would be enough if you don’t want a lot of photos of just the two of you and a single location is enough to capture the love between you. But if you really want to explore Copenhagen, and have pictures in different locations, different vibes and backdrops, I strongly recommend a two-hour coverage.
FYI, this story was shot in one hour, and as you can see, guests did bring bubble soap, we had lots of family and group photos taken and at the end they had a few minutes left for a couple of photos in a location close to Copenhagen City Hall.
During our quick photo shoot, a family riding bicycles passed by. When the father noticed that they had been photographed too, he got angry and demanded that I show him the photos and that I delete all the photos where his children appeared. It was a very unpleasant situation. After they left, the groom, very humorous, asked me to make a montage replacing their heads with his. So this last photo is about that. This is the groom’s favourite photo.
