I’ve been working as a professional wedding photographer in Copenhagen for seven years now and one of my favourite places to shoot weddings in Denmark is Stevns Klint. It’s an incredible place just one hour from Copenhagen where you get to experience nature bringing its A-game. 
Mary and Amar’s elopement in Denmark took place in Stevns Klint last summer. They came all the way from the U.S. for their civil wedding in Denmark and chose me as their wedding photographer.
Usually when I photograph weddings in Stevns Klint, the wedding ceremony takes place inside Højerup old church. Not this time, though. The registrar performed the wedding ceremony outdoors. The sea, the cliff and the old church provided an amazing backdrop to their civil wedding ceremony, which tasted for about five minutes. Right after the ceremony, they had a glass of Champagne enjoying the breathtaking view to the Højerup church. After the toast, we had about thirty minutes left for some wedding portraits down at the beach. Mary had her flip-flops on, so she was prepared to go down the stairs. And let me warn you here: these stairs are really steep! You have to be careful going downstairs. Challenge overcome, it was time for the wedding photo shoot and once again, this place didn’t disappoint us. When you get at there you see this beautiful stone beach, clear water… and the stones reflection in the water is simply stunning – very, very photogenic! Risking your life to go down those stairs is definitely worth it. When we’re done with our wedding photo shoot, we had, of course, to climb up the stairs – and this is the real challenge, my friends. Again, Mary’s choice to wear flip-flops for her wedding in Stevns Klint was the right one.
I had a great time photographing these two lovebirds in one of my favourite places. Meeting all these lovely people from all around the world makes me love my job even more!
